Ignore the post dates on these blog entries… I got Nori in July 2023 and I want to write about all the things that happened that summer even though I wasn’t traveling much. Soon, I’ll be caught up and writing real-time as I travel.
Late July 2023: Once Liz and I got through the buying/selling process, which I was woefully unprepared for, both emotionally and just from a logistics standpoint, then my best friend Tracey and I headed over to Ticonderoga to visit my in-laws, Joan and Jim. It was my first time driving anything bigger than my Subaru and it was nervewracking through the mountains of Vermont.
Tracey and her family have always had towable trailers for camping so she was much more comfortable than I was and had lots of good tips for me.

This trip was literally just a day after I got Nori registered. That process will get its own post as it involved my flooded basement, a trip to the dentist, and sitting at the DMV for 7 hours.
It was CRAZY stressful because I didn’t really know how anything worked yet. Tracey talked me off the ledge over and over again, and somehow, we got through the trip with good memories. We camped at Putnam Pond near Ticonderoga, which was beautiful, and visited Jim and Joan each day.

I’m going to add some content about all the fun of registration, inspection, etc as well as going over all the specs on the van next. Stay tuned!
